EL PROYECTO

Basura para unos, los tesoros más preciados para otros. ¿Dónde está el valor de las cosas y cuál es el umbral que delimita la cordura, conciencia, realidad, avaricia y objetividad social?

El coleccionismo, la materialización de nuestros recuerdos, de nuestro imaginario más personal y nuestra resistencia a morir, a desaparecer, se transforma en algunos casos en un comportamiento compulsivo materializado en la acumulación de objetos, recuperación y construcción de un mundo personal excepcional y más habitual de lo que imaginamos.

Clínicamente se denomina como Síndrome de Diógenes, pero este fenómeno no sólo afecta a individuos sino que es capaz de afectar a sociedades enteras.

¿Somos lo que tenemos? ¿Desaparecemos si no lo tenemos? quizás una sociedad vacía necesita materializarse para existir. Una realidad construida a base de productos reutilizados, inútiles, conformados para nuevos usos y nunca jamás empleados de nuevo. Pero están ahí, por si acaso.

THE PROJECT

Trash to some and the most precious treasures to others. Where is the value of things and what is the threshold that defines wisdom, consciousness, reality, greed and social objectives?

Collecting is the embodiment of our memories, our imagination and social imagery to die, to disappear. In some cases it becomes a compulsive behavior resulting in the accumulation of objects, recovery and construction of a most unique and personal world that what we imagine. Clinically known as Diogenes Syndrome, this phenomenon affects not only individuals, but can also affect entire societies.

Are we what we have? Do we disappear if we do not have it? Perhaps an empty society needs to become real for it to exist. A reality based on reused and useless products up configured for new uses and never used again. However they are there, just in case.
